Classic open 4WD game drives through Tanzania's national parks. Morning and afternoon drives with expert guides who read wildlife behaviour to position you for the best sightings.
Game drives are the heartbeat of the Tanzania safari experience. From the pre-dawn chill of a 5:30am departure to the golden drama of an African sunset, every hour in an open 4WD vehicle reveals a new chapter of the wild. Tanzania's national parks — the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire, and more — host the greatest concentration of wildlife on Earth, and a skilled Beryx Travel guide knows exactly where to find it.
Unlike many destinations, Tanzania's northern circuit parks allow you to drive off-road, bringing you within metres of lions, elephants, and leopards in a way few experiences on Earth can match. Our custom-built 4WD Land Cruisers feature pop-up roofs, window ledges for camera support, and refrigerated cooler boxes — designed for the ultimate game drive experience.
Rise before the sun for a 5:30–6:00am pick-up. The golden hour after sunrise offers the most magical light and the highest predator activity — lions finishing their nocturnal hunts, cheetahs scanning the plains.
Your Beryx Travel guide — with years of bush experience — reads tracks, bird alarm calls, and animal behaviour to locate the best sightings. No other vehicle gets you as close as ours do.
A full morning drive is followed by a bush breakfast at a scenic spot or back at camp. The midday heat slows wildlife, so we rest and refresh before the afternoon drive.
The 4–7pm afternoon drive catches predators active again as temperatures fall. Leopards emerge from daytime rest, elephant herds head to water, and the setting sun turns the savannah copper-gold.
All guides hold TANAPA certification and have 5–15+ years of field experience reading animal behaviour.
Pop-up roof hatches, camera rest ledges, and bean bags built into every vehicle for stable telephoto shots.
Tanzania permits off-road driving (unlike Kenya). We get you metres from lions, not 50m behind a rope.
In parks that permit night drives (Ruaha, private conservancies), see nocturnal species — civets, bush babies, hunting leopards.
Evening drives end with a classic bush sundowner — cold drinks and snacks as the sun sets over the savannah.
Maximum 6 guests per vehicle so everyone gets a window seat and personal attention from the guide.
