What is the best time to visit Tanzania?

Tanzania can be visited year-round. The best time for the Great Migration (river crossings) is July–October in the northern Serengeti. For calving season, visit January–March in the southern Serengeti. Kilimanjaro is best climbed January–March and June–October (dry seasons).

Do I need a visa to visit Tanzania?

Most nationalities require a visa to enter Tanzania. You can obtain a visa on arrival at Kilimanjaro or Julius Nyerere International Airport, or apply online in advance. We recommend checking with the Tanzanian High Commission or Embassy in your country.

What vaccinations do I need?

Yellow Fever vaccination is required if you are coming from a country where Yellow Fever is present. We also recommend vaccinations for Hepatitis A, Typhoid, and Tetanus. Malaria prophylaxis is strongly advised. Consult your doctor or travel health clinic before your trip.
